Probably because I'm worried about the head injury, I was mixed up about when I was to call, and called one weak after learning about the accident. First I called Save', where the lady that normally answers the phone said "Good Morning" in a very nice way after hearing my voice. It was the first time she has spoken any English to me. She quickly gave the phone to the guy I talked to last time, and he carefully explained: "Sarrah in Contoneau, Sarrah in Contoneau". I said thank you and I understand a couple of times, and he kept repeating "Sarrah in Contoneau." Sara had her back pack on and was just leaving Contoneau for the six hour trip to Save'. They do not want them travelling at night, and so she was hurrying to leave. (How is all of this suspose to make a Father feel, regarding her safety?) We had a good conversation. Andrea just got back from doing her exercises, and was going to get ready for seminary, and took time to remind Sara our prayers are with her each day. Sara said they kept her in Contoneau so the regional Doctor could check her out yesterday. He did a lot of memory tests, and she said she is doing fine. She was confused about me calling, not expecting it, and saw this as a memory problem, until I pointed out I just read the last time I called, and I was off by a week. Oh well! It was good to talk, and especially good to know the Peace Corps is not taking the head injury lightly. I told Sara I'm scheduled to go to China on the 29th, and then to Libya, and that if I had this kind of around the world ticket, I would be coming to visit her in Benin just before Christmas. She was pleased. If I do have to do all of this travel, I hope it turns out like this. |
