Sara's first question when I called was "When are you coming to Benin?' Once again I had to say I have been overly optimistic. I do expect the trip to Libya to happen, and I've told people at work that when I go to Libia I am going to go and visit my daughter in Benin. However, after preparing the questionaire for the data management people, we have not heard back as to when it will be a good time to make the visit there. So I hope this will happen the first part of next year. She then said: "That's OK! I just tell people that my Dad MIGHT come and visit." Sara was in very good mood and sounded very happy. She has just read a book about China, and was interested in my trip there the end of this week, as well as when I first went to China. She has started a half-hour radio show each week. They play four American songs and have a discussion about something important. This week the discussion is about malaria. How to tell when you have it, what to do if you get it, etc. She said they will do shows on other things like dirreah, savings, etc. She said she could not use anything from Rachel's radio shows in Cedar City. Sara's boyfriend, Charlemaigne, just received a Fullbright Scholarship, and will be coming to the states to study. He was the only one chosen for this in Benin. She was very excited about this. I conferenced Sara to her Mom, because she has not talked to her in several months. |
