First time talked to someone in the office who spoke very good English. However, Sara was at lunch. After I got to work and about 8:30, I called Andrea and she conferenced to Sara. Sara was hit by a motorcycle coming out of the visa office, landed on her head, was knocked out for a short time, and has been in recovery since. She sounded good, and seemed a little bit slow to respond. She said she was doing training and that the new volunteers did not even know about the accident. The three stitches are above her left ear and are covered up by her hair. She missed her vacation up north because of the accident. I had the distinct impression that the accident might not have been an accident, that Sara's guardian angel let it happen so she wouldn't go on that trip. Whether this is just my superstition or whether it is real it doesn't matter. The important thing is that she is OK. The rest of the story will be unveiled at some time in the future, probably not until we are on the other side of the veil ourselves. However, the point I'm writing is that there are often blessings, even in something as scarey as a head injury. |
