"Wasn't near as much happened as I hoped would happen last week, at least regarding work. Plains Exploration & Production Company has a project they are considering having me work on for them. I'm to call them back early in February. Anadarko Petroleum has a project they are interested in talking to me about. They want me to call them back early in February. Met with Mike Keevaney, who is a consultant, and is interested in the kind of things I'm doing. John Benard is not going to do much until after NAPE (North American Prospect Expo), the first week of February. Don Vossler and I did some work on Casey Ranch on Friday and discovered that we are mapping where hydrocarbons have been extracted. This could be a big deal. However, it will probably be February before we know. GDC was suppose to provide me an offer by Friday. They didn't. Maybe it will come by early February. Can you tell yet that I'm getting frustrated. Oh well!
The big news this week is that Andrea has been asked to teach seminary the rest of this year. Lots of emotions for me tied up in this, specifically because of a rescinded call to teach seminary some 8-10 years ago. Andrea is very excited about it, and has spent all week getting ready. The previous teacher, Cheryl Stine, needs to spend a lot of time at the hospital with her oldest son, whose bike was snagged by a passing train, was dragged for a long ways, lost a leg, and is in intensive care at the medical center. That part of the call has been hard for all of us. However, today Andrea gave introduction letters to all of the kids, she feels a very good spirit from the kids, and is very excited about this opportunity to serve.
Maybe the reason Andrea is so excited, is she gets to work with her next younger brother Robert, who has been a Seminary Teacher his whole career (she will be asking him for help). Whatever the case may be, there has been a wonderful spirit in our home this last week, despite my inability to close business opportunities, and I am very excited about Andrea's opportunity to be a Seminary Teacher."
