In my experience, even those of us with scientific tendencies are spiritually touched when we take the time to contemplate contrasts in the life and death of friends, or when we study one of the myriad of other intersections and bridges found within the faith - science matrix. Hopefully, when we find our thoughts contemplating the eternal, we will do so with an open mind.
"And besides this, give all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; and to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; and to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
