The Guide covers four areas:

"Wisdom" and Practices

A set of flow-charts guide the geoscientist through questions that should always be asked for any geophysical project. The result is a series of actions which provide the basis of the project specification.

It gets every geoscientist asking the right questions at the right time.

Explains how geophysics has been used to address five generic problems:

Tools Overview

Explains the tools used to tackle the five generic problems above. They are:

Rock Properties Overview

Explains how we relate those rock properties we can get from the seismic data (e.g. Velocities) to those properties that we want to map (e.g. Porosity)

How

The document has been created in a basic HTML format and so can reside on any server (Unix, PC, MAC).

Access is by any general HTML reader e.g. Netscape, Websurfer, Mosaic etc. These programs are very common-place, you probably have them residing on your network already (They are used to "Surf the Internet").

The user simply opens his HTML reader, then opens a "Bookmark" pointing to the "Good LFP Guide". As you know...the rest is "Point and Click".
