VECtor Financial ProForma
Key assumptions for these financials include:
- All VECtor financial
transactions will be immediately recorded and posted on the INTERNET, so
that interested parties can insure that their interests are being
served. A key concept with the VECtor
"consortium" is open everything.
- 8. VECtor
Registered Experts pay $500 per year for limited access to VETL
- 10. VECtor
Registered Experts generate an average of $2,000 income to VECtor for client projects they bring in to use the available
visualization environments. At a discounted rate of $500 per hour (down
from $2,000 per hour for geotechnical corporate sponsors), this allows 4
hours of visualization per project on a first come first serve and
available time basis.
- 11. Geotechnical Sponsors
commit to use VECtor for a minimum of 5
hours over a year's membership, at $2,000 per hour. For making this
access payment up front as a consortium fee, they get 10 hours of access
and a discounted rate of $1,000 per hour, beyond 10 hours on a first
come first serve and available time basis.
- 13. One grant or long term Research & Development contract of
at least $500,000 will be generated by VECtor
during the first year. This grant will be to allow
Registered Experts and VETL staff to delve into a research project
in depth, and will be specifially focused on improving the systems
available through VECtor.
- 23. Walden 3-D, Inc. will
provide three full-time equivalent staff initially and will increase
this staff as projects justify it. This salary can be handled as
University Staff or outsourced and handled through a special account
Walden 3-D, Inc. sets up.. The proposed initial individuals include:
- 27. Marketing costs and open houses will be largely dedicated to
supporting the Registered
Experts, their contacts, and Geotechnical Sponsors. This will
include bi-monthly technical presentations of VECtor
research results that can be made public, special Open Houses for
schools and the community, etc.
- 28. Consulting costs paid to the
Registered Experts for supporting Geotechnical Sponsors one calculated at $5,000 per Sponsor.
- 29. Facility Costs are assumed to be $500 per month ($11/square
foot/year for three 13.5 foot x13.5 foot rooms).
- 30. VECtor system access and
University of Houston overhead costs are calculated at $500 per
Registered Experts project and $3,000 per Geotechnical Sponsor.
this is significantly less than IDC of 48%, which is typyical for The
University of Houston. VECtor is an outsourced consortium, and there are minimial to no costs to the
University to run the operation, and the University gets the key
benefits:
- industry exposure to University of Houston research projects
- ownership of all patents derived from the work
- high profile presentations and show and tells associated with the
many Oil and Gas Industry and other geotechnical conventions that occur
in Houston
- grants or long-term Research & Development contracts
- a basis for establishing virtual team
collaborative research with partner universities all around the
world
- public relations associated with giving back to the community
