I drove down to see Tonya and have Thanksgiving dinner with her. We had a nice visit. But so different from the time at grandma Nelson's house when we would all get together. We would play footfall in the front yard, visit, and have such a grand time. All the adults ate on one table and the kids on another. We ate turkey, potatoes, fruit salad, crandberries, and we had wonderful pies. I can still feel the love and kindness and wonderful feelings that I had there. I never once doubted grandma's love for me or for that matter for all of us. She was truely a great woman.
I wonder if this love is the same as the love of God, parttaking of the fruit of the tree of life. The most desirable thing in the universe. I wonder if the love we have for each other along with the love we have for God creates a feeling where contention cannot abide.
I hope that this is so. The love I felt had that time and still do is very precious.
