Things To Be Acted Upon
As introduced in the previous section, even things which act, things like human beings, with our free will and free agency, are acted upon. A personal example demonstrating this occurred in 2005 when hurricanes Rita and Katrina hit the Gulf Coast of the United States. With modern satellite technology we become very aware of when something like a hurricane is about to act upon us. And being aware, we, being independent agents with the ability to make choices, hopefully take appropriate action. Especially when it appears we are targeted by something much larger than ourselves, like those on Galveston Island, and even those of us further inland, certainly felt in September of 2005 (see Figure 41).
