Scientists now know better how ancient thinkers got mixed up on the interrelationships of some of these actors and classes of actors. The ancient thinkers realized there were more components to their existence than simply heat from the sun or from fire or from a volcano. And so scientists conclude these early cultures created other gods to help the sun god or the fire god watch over the word. It is easy for a scientists to take a jaundiced look at these gods, and place all gods in a category called superstition. Looking at the first actor from this scientific standpoint, Table 3a-3f provides a summary of the gods of mankind, and is organized according to the times the various principal cultures were or are present on the earth:
