Stake Missionary Testimony:

October 2, 1995

Having been raised in a good Protestant home, I learned at a young age to love Jesus Christ, his teachings, and his sacrifice for me. However, over time, I felt that something was missing; that there was more to God's plan for us than I had been taught.

I spent considerable time and effort searching for the truth. I investigated several religious organizations and ideas trying to find how I could best serve God. I fasted and prayed, humbly asking God to lead me to the truth.

By no coincidence, I was led to discover The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The teachings "rang true" to my heart. I spent months studying the church and its teachings. I read the Book of Mormon and found it to contain many beautiful truths, explained in a very clear way. I eventually received a confirmation from the Holy Ghost of the truth of the teachings of the LDS church and of the Book of Mormon. It was a very beautiful experience that has been repeated many, many times in the 23 years since that first spiritual experience.

I know that the church's doctrine that marriage can be eternal, and that families can be together forever is true. And I'm very grateful for that knowledge. My love for my Heavenly Father, and for his son Jesus Christ has deepened over the years

I am very grateful for my excellent Protestant upbringing that prepared me to receive further truth. I thank my Heavenly Father continually, for answering my prayers and leading me to such happiness.
