Welcome to "the engines of my love," a regular review
of why I love you, Martha Ellyn Sharp Nelson, and no
other woman.
I love you because you were a major motivation towards my taking
the initial contract at the Bureau of Economic Geology. I was attempting
to give you some space with the belief it would help you change your
mind about seeking divorce. It has turned out to be a really good
experience for me. I enjoy the people, I have enjoyed the work, and
it has been good for me to have a place to decompress, to read, to
pray, to think, and to decide how to live my life. At the end of
last month a BEG contract extension was set up for me through June 15th.
When I got to work Thursday morning I learned they had issued a new
extension through the end of September. The new contract extension is
only for 2 days a week, but it is still 30 days of consulting over the
next four months. I do not understand why, but I am not at all worried
about money. I hope Grandma Hafen is not right in her warning that
something terrible could happen to me that will keep me from working
at all and I will need to have savings. If it does, it does. I will
assume it won't, at least until I have had time to refeather my nest.
In the meantime, even if it is only from a distance and even if it is
not acknowledged as being true, I will continue to love you.
I'm interested in sharing why I love you. I know how important
the written word is to you, and if you ever feel neglected,
ignored, or unloved, and would like an up-to-date bound copy of
these lovelets or any subset of these lovelets for any purpose
you might have come to mind, please tell me or e-mail your request
to rnelson@walden3d.com with the request 'lovelet update.'
With all my love,
Roice
