Roice's Commencement.

. . .

Welcome to "the engines of my love," a regular review of why I love you, Martha Ellyn Sharp Nelson, and no other woman.

I love you because you encouraged Rob to go with me to Roice's Commencement. Maybe it is more accurate to say you didn't discourage him. We had a good time together. he was tired from the camping trip, and so he slept almost all of the way to Austin. It was my first time to use one of the La Quinta Inn free passes. Because of all of the activity at UT, they only had a smoking room with a king sized bed available. But it worked out fine. Rob had fun riding his skateboard down the parking ramps in the Parking Garage.

Roice was pleased to see us. In fact, he called on the cell phone when we were just driving into Austin checking to make sure we were coming. The three of us went to dinner at The Hyde Park Grill. It was a fun dinner. Roice and Rob were in fine form.

We got to the commencement exercises just in time. Rob and I got a seat to the east of where all of the students were sitting. It was a really impressive gala event. The band was great. The talks were a little socialistic, but were sincere and covered good points. When the Mechanical Engineering graduates stood up they didn't turn the spotlights on them and there was a smart crack made about UT engineers from the podium. The orange lights on the UT tower are impressive, and the fireworks were really impressive. I strongly urge you to attend this ceremony when Melanie graduates, even if the Rockets are playing a playoff game.

As we got back to the La Quinta Inn, I wished you were there with Rob and I. I daydreamed of the day when you will ask me to use one of my free passes and to spend a night with me. The daydream was not sexual (those happen at night), it was just a desire to be with you because I love you.

I'm interested in sharing why I love you. I know how important the written word is to you, and if you ever feel neglected, ignored, or unloved, and would like an up-to-date bound copy of these lovelets or any subset of these lovelets for any purpose you might have come to mind, please tell me or e-mail your request to rnelson@walden3d.com with the request 'lovelet update.'

With all my love,
Roice
