1. XINJIANG PETROLEUM ADMINISTRATION BUREAU (AREA "X", northwest margin of Junggar Basin):
Under Primary Contract No. CUSCA-S890855, between CNTIC (China National
Technical Export Corporation) and TENSOR (Tensor Geophysical Service
Corporation), signed on August 25, 1989 and a secondary contract between
TENSOR and II&T. Under these technology transfer agreements, TENSOR did 3D
seismic data processing while II&T did structural and lithological
interpretation; both companies trained Chinese Geoscientists and Engineers
in their respective field of expertise.
Six unconformities (within Mesozoic) and more than 14 thrust faults were
mapped within 30 Km2 of the producing field while the total area covered by
the 3D survey was 131 Km2 Some 30 wells were available for lithological
interpretation and all available information was tied to these wells.
2. DAQING PETROLEUM ADMINISTRATION BUREAU (AREA "XW1-HC4", Heilar Basin in Heilangang, Province):
Under Primary Contract No. CUSCC-S910152, between CNTIC (China National
Technical Export Corporation) and TENSOR (Tensor Geophysical Service
Corporation), signed late 1991, and a secondary contract between TENSOR
and II&T. Under these technology transfer agreements, TENSOR did 3D seismic
data processing while II&T did structural and lithological interpretation;
both companies trained Chinese Geoscientists and Engineers in their
respective field of expertise.
The interpretation project included interpretation and mapping of six
horizons, search for hydrocarbon indicators, identification of several
clastic depositional sequences ("sand bodies") and evaluation of them as
reservoir; seismic modeling to verify interpretation.
