I brought you back a rock. It looks like a quartz. We went and saw Lome, capital of Togo. It is really pretty. Really cool. They have really good food. Very different from Couteneau. Got visa extended. Went to Accra, capital of Ghana. Felt like in the states. Saw girls from Benin who felt their closes were dirty. Saw an acrobatics Chinese show. Saw the art center, drums and masks were neat. Went Cape Coast, another town in Ghana, which was a major slave port. They have the first European buildings built in West Africa. Museum talks about all of this stuff. Favorite part was Kakum National Park, an hour north of Cape Coast. They have a canopy walk, the only one Africa. It is 200 meters up. Climb up a lot of stairs. Outside of Katum is Domana, a big rock that they worshiped and did sacrafices. Walked around a bunch of big rocks. A lot of Ecotourism. Neat hike. Also got a canoe ride on Pra River. Little tiny canoe. Completely peaceful. Nothing around for 9.5 km. Walked back. Allergies were bad. Taking allergy medicine. Didn't go camping because of allergies. Charlie was the name of her traveling companion. He is from Benin. Said she knows I do not agree with traveling with a guy. Matt has left Save. She is still using the phone at his house. She things the Peace Corps plans to put another teacher in Save'. So they are still renting his house. Sara saw someone off to the airport last night, Falecia. Several others have gone home. Sara is fine and happy. Speak French and malaria medicine does not make her crazy like some of the others. She told me about 4 or 5 who have gone home, but she was talking too fast for me to make any notes, and I could not understand the names she said. She got package with all of the candy. Said thank you. She is half way through the book. |
